SUMMER YOUTH FEEDING PROGRAM |
The Cheyenne River Reservation is located in a county with the highest child poverty rate in the US. When local teachers told us that their students return from summer vacations feeling lethargic and having lost a lot of weight from going hungry with no free school lunches and breakfasts, we knew we had to act.
Now, every summer, we feed kids five days a week at four community centers on the Reservation. All children have to do is show up and we provide them with a free lunch that includes milk and fresh fruit. Even more than healthy meals we're providing the kids with coloring pages full of kid-friendly nutritious facts and fun prizes too! Without this program, many of these kids would simply do without. We can't thank you enough for helping us keep this program going.

Help us give these kids the jumpstart they need to start the new school year. You can make it happen.
