For American Indian children that suffer the effects of poverty everyday, simple items like new toys or clothes are often an unaffordable luxury. Running Strong sees these children handle the reality of their lives with grace and humility. Especially at the holidays, Running Strong believes these children should know they are not forgotten. Running Strong tries to provide special days for American Indian children and their families through holiday meals, new backpacks of school supplies, and toy drives.
HOLIDAY PARTIES
These celebrations support traditional Native American culture, through programs such as youth adopting elders and making them special gifts, and bring joy to families through toy drives, screenings of family films, healthy meals, and more.
Each year, the Cheyenne River Youth Project® holds the Passion for Fashion Prom Dress Drive to benefit Cheyenne River girls that want to attend their prom, but cannot afford new dresses. Find out more about this inspirational event and how you can help.
Running Strong is working with the Cheyenne River Youth Project®to bring Christmas to children on the Cheyenne River Sioux Reservation in one of the poorest counties in the US. Our goal is to make sure that each child receives a gift this Christmas! Learn more, read the children's letters to Santa, and find out how you can make Christmas dreams come true.
